Terms of Service
Last updated: June 9, 2026
01Service description
Malt is a music-marketing platform for independent labels, marketing agencies, artist managers, and self-releasing artists. It provides release pages, fan capture, a fan CRM, email campaigns, and campaign analytics — tracked together as one campaign rather than as disconnected links.
02Accounts & workspaces
You need an account to use Malt, and accounts are organized into workspaces. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for the activity that happens in your workspace. Workspace owners control who can join and what members can do. Provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
03Acceptable use
Don't use Malt to do anything unlawful, to distribute content you don't have the rights to, to impersonate others, or to interfere with the service — including scraping, probing, or circumventing usage limits. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.
04Your content & licenses
You retain ownership of everything you upload — cover art, audio, press materials, and other content. By uploading, you grant Malt a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, display, and transmit that content solely to operate and provide the service (for example, showing your cover art on your release pages). You confirm you have the rights to the content you upload.
05Fan data responsibilities
The fan lists in your workspace belong to you. For fan contact data you collect or import, you are the data controller and Malt processes it on your behalf. You're responsible for having a lawful basis to contact your fans and for honoring their requests, such as deletion or unsubscribes.
06Email-sending rules
Only email people who have given you consent to be contacted. Purchased, rented, or scraped lists are not allowed. Every marketing email sent through Malt includes an unsubscribe link, and you may not remove or obscure it. Violations can lead to sending suspension or account termination.
07Early access
Malt is in early access. The service is provided as-is: features may change or be removed, and we don't offer an SLA or uptime guarantee during this period. We'll do our best to communicate significant changes ahead of time.
08Termination
You can stop using Malt and delete your workspace at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination, your right to use the service ends; you can export your fan data before deleting your workspace.
09Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Malt is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for claims related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
10Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we'll notify you — by email or in the product — before it takes effect. Continuing to use Malt after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
